Evening tour to
Hutongs plus Bar Street
Ride trough the back streets and alleyways to see what life is like for
the local residents in the evening before relaxing yourself in a little
café/bar in Houhai.
in Beijing the citizens also built walls around their dwellings for
protection. Within these walled hutongs you'll find individual
residences and courtyards where thousands of Beijingers still live, many
without modern conveniences.
Houhai is Beijing's newly developed old town of funky nightlife. With
the glow of lights over the lake Hohai takes on an unreal feeling - this
is where Willy Wonka came to party. Each cafe and restaurant (aside from
Starbucks) is individually owned and has their own unique style and
service. Not to say that they don't copy each other's good ideas. |
